Development and Implementation of Robust and Spectrally Eecient Medium Data Rate Modems Part 1: Architectures

چکیده
The demands currently placed on medium data rate digital transmission services are for increased spectral eeciency and this factor leads to the development of innovative high speed modem archi-tectures. This paper discusses various aspects of the modem development currently being under-taken by the Institute for Telecommunications Research (ITR) at the University of South Australia (USA) in collaboration with its commercial partner JNS Electronics Pty. Ltd.

Development and Implementation of Robust and Spectrally-eecient Medium Data Rate Modems Part 2: Synchronisation Algorithms
Synchronisation algorithms for carrier phase recovery and symbol timing in a medium-rate QAM modem are presented. Decision directed (DD) methods that use 1 sample per symbol period are presented. New results are presented to show the eeect of decision errors in the phase detector. The performance of phase and timing estimators is shown when both phase and time oosets are present, and loop conve...

متن کاملDesign and Test of New Robust QCA Sequential Circuits
One of the several promising new technologies for computing at nano-scale is quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA). In this paper, new designs for different QCA sequential circuits are presented. Using an efficient QCA D flip-flop (DFF) architecture, a 5-bit counter, a novel single edge generator (SEG) and a divide-by-2 counter are implemented. Also, some types of oscillators, a new edge-t...
متن کاملDevelopment of a spectrally efficient, high speed modem for microwave terrestrial and satellite communications
The widespread demand for use of the limited radio spectrum leads to the design of high–speed modems which are spectrally efficient. This paper discusses the current work being undertaken on a DSP based modem supporting data rates ranging from 2 Mbit/sec up to 20 Mbit/sec.
متن کاملToward the Development of a Robust Kinetic Model for the Cobalt Fischer-Tropsch Catalyst Lifetime Using a Novel Sigmoidal Pattern
Although catalyst deactivation rate greatly varies depending on many factors, including the catalyst structure, reactor feed composition, and operating conditions; it is usually inevitable. Since catalyst deactivation modeling has so far been poorly addressed in the literature, in the present study, nine experimental sets of cobalt based Fischer-Tropsch catalysts activity-time data were conside...
